Hello!
I'm trying to get input and feedback into the creation of a UK Drupal Association that will help and enable the regional Drupal user groups in the UK. Who is currently organising Drupal events in the North West? I'd like to get their input.
(Everyone else is entitled to give me feedback and input too, just that I suspect that any association will effect event organisers negatively the most, so would like to ensure that it doesn't as much as possible by talking to them!)

Hey Steven.
I help to run the NW Drupal User Group and I think that a UK Drupal Association would help to tie together all of the user groups throughout the country into one coherent structure. I'm sure our little group would be happy to be a part of such a body :)
I saw your post recently on drupal.org.uk on this subject (here http://www.drupal.org.uk/forum/uk-drupal-association if anyone wants to read it) and I agree with the sentiment of creating an organisation to help out but not to be too overpowering. I think the greatest amount of resistance to a body like this would be if it was to dictate terms. I have seen first hand in the WordPress world from the WordCamp body and the backlash it created.
I will post some messages to our mailing list and raise the subject at our next usergroup meetup (on the 7th March) to see if I can get some views on this.

The North West Drupal user group? Just come along on wednesdays the first week of every month at Madlab at 6pm (though for some reason I feel like I recognise you?)

That might be helpful. If not, I'll clear off!
