I'd like to let you know about a new Drupal 7 website released on Valentine’s Day 14 February 2012 by the State Library of Victoria.
Love and Devotion: From Persia and Beyond
http://exhibitions.slv.vic.gov.au/love-and-devotion
This website features content prepared for a temporary exhibition from 9 March – 1 July 2012. The exhibition features manuscripts from Persia, Mughal India, and Ottoman Turkey.
The website was prepared by the Business Development Services and Web teams at the State Library of Victoria in conjunction with Realityloop Pty Ltd (http://www.realityloop.com). In particular, the assistance from Brian Gilbert (http://groups.drupal.org/user/1982) was greatly appreciated.
The website features:
• Deep Zoom module (http://drupal.org/project/deepzoom) allowing closeup views of individual manuscript pages.
• Close captions for video via the JW Player module (http://drupal.org/project/jw_player) and the site features mobile friendly video via JW Player version 5.
• Glossary functionality via (http://drupal.org/project/lexicon) with a custom patch for special characters for Persian language terminology.
• Interactive timeline hosted by http://www.tiki-toki.com/
• Custom built zoomable map.
Around three quarters of State Library of Victoria web traffic is now served via Drupal, mostly through Drupal 6 sites. This exhibition site is the first Drupal 7 site built by the State Library of Victoria development team.
I’d welcome your comments and queries posted as comments on this post.
