Hi,
I've recently installed Drupal and I'm trying to configure a core theme but I get this error message:
warning: fopen(sites/default/files/.htaccess) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/...(my URL here).../httpdocs/includes/file.inc on line 129.
Security warning: Couldn't write .htaccess file. Please create a .htaccess file in your sites/default/files directory which contains the following lines:
SetHandler Drupal_Security_Do_Not_Remove_See_SA_2006_006
Options None
Options +FollowSymLinks
Has anybody had this before and how do I correct it?
Thanks for any help anybody can offer.
Damian
p.s. Great introduction to Drupal at the skiff last Thursday. Thanks Steve.

.htaccess
Hi Damian,
Glad you enjoyed the workshop!
Are you sure you copied your .htaccess file up to your web server? It's an easy thing to miss as by default you don't see hidden files (which you should be able to change in your file types/view options.)
If you've lost the file just download another copy of Drupal and unzip it as it will be there.
Let me know if this is your issue...
problem resolved!
Steve, Thanks for advice, I changed all the permissions of files and folder so much I couldn't get it all back to default(!) so I did a reinstall and I copied over the .htaccess file from the php folder into the webroot folder and everything now seems to be fine and dandy. Cheers, Damian
Excellent!
Glad you got it fixed - that .htaccess can trip people up, and won't work very well without it!
I need some help on this
You guys know exactly what to do most likely, but I can't seem to get it to work...spending hours on something that probably takes 10 seconds...
Any help you be appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike
