Non-profit site builder looking to retain Drupal assistance with in-house odds and ends

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am the Web Developer at a small non-profit that uses Drupal 6 for three or more sites (multiple installations). We have a somewhat random combination of needs right now, some of which I'll enumerate below:

  • Caching on one site is partially broken while B&M backups only occur a third as often as scheduled
  • Security holes are open and have been exploited to take over our home page
  • We want to integrate a test server for each of our sites
  • Bugs exist in the way our WYSIWYG is currently functioning
  • Trouble getting ImageAPI to work properly on one site
  • Would like to discuss implementing Amazon CloudFront
  • Knowledge of must-have Salesforce apps that integrate with D6 (we're implementing Salesforce as our first real CRM this Spring/Summer)

I guess what we're looking for is a person or company that has broad enough experience to know how to help us in somewhat unpredictable and random areas of Drupal while being willing to train me on what the solutions they would use are, and how to implement them and why.

Is there a company or developer that would like to help us in this regard? It could be on a retainer, but we'd want to enable carry-over of hours from one month to the next because it could involve heavier and lighter months. At the same time, availability in person in downtown DC is kind of important.

Experience that is valuable to us:

  • Debugging problems on D6 sites that weren't necessarily designed/upgraded/developed by professionals
  • Front-end performance improvement, including via mass file-size reduction
  • Great communication skills (including, ideally, training other developers)
  • Salesforce integration with pre-existing D6 sites
  • Working with organizations limited by staff time and budget money, e.g. small non-profits

We would definitely prefer an individual developer or two over a large company for reasons of cost and relationship building. Ideally, you'd have a relationship with our organization for years to come.

The small non-profit I represent promotes youth service projects. We're a friendly bunch of people with a two-person technology team.

If anybody could recommend someone they know who might be a good fit for our type of need, that would be awesome. If there are questions as to what that need entails exactly, that would be awesome.

We'd love to talk with you about being your go-to Drupal help. We've done a number of Drupal projects integrating Salesforce using Apex, Marketo, etc.

We're in the Bay Area in California, but we have clients all over the States. Often using a mix of Skype videochat and screensharing, it's never been an issue for our east-coast clients.

Please check out our portfolio and let me know if you'd like to talk!
