Hi Caroline,

Hopefully it went well - helped Dan (I think it was Dan, bad with remembering!) how to set up testimonials:

• either using the guestbook module or by creating a testimonial content type and using views to display. Guestbook module is ok but entries are not nodes, and the URLs point to /guestbook so without renaming most of the module (as I did previously) sometimes better just to use a node type of your own but of course you lose any functionality the guestbook module gives you.

Also tried to explain the numerous ways to add images and galleries. Bernhard was using the AcidFree albums module but I really don't like that module, so we went through some other options:

• image and image assist - image assist enables you to add images into posts like blog posts and creates an asset library as you do it. Couldn't work out how to display the inline image code though, I've not used that before so it's probably something to do with the input type setup, will check it out when I get a mo and let us know if you know!

• couldn't work out how to list the images in a view - on one site I'm doing I had to use a 'hack' where I created a relationship in my view of Image:Files so it would then show the image in the fields. If anyone's got galleries working would appreciate if they could post how they did it!

• mentioned there's a lot of work being done on the media module which is trying to bring all these different ways into one. I've downloaded it but it's HUGE! Also slowed my install down to a crawl. I watched the DrupalconDC session on archive.org about media module and it all sounds good but not really had time to work out how it works.

Nolan came along and had a problem with GMap location:

• has a charity site which lists projects and each one has a location. The main map of all nodes works and shows the markers but when you display the node the location seems to be lost and just displays the marker in the default location. We couldn't work out what was wrong so suggested he had a look through the issue queue to see if others had similar problems

• also wanted to know how he could display the location map for a particular project on another page - not sure how to do this as only played with maps and drupal once a while back when I set up a site called 'GNU World Order' ;) I used the geobrowser map so that people could place a marker on the map and it would bring up the node add form

I think that was about it, 2 hours of wracking my brain was enough for me to close the laptop and have a beer!

The next meeting is currently planned for Thursday 7th May at the West HIll pub behind the station - trying to get it fortnightly and on a different night for those who can't make Wednesdays. It's hard to help a lot of people each time but good to meet and go over issues people have. Wish I could have helped more last night but will check issues out when I have a mo and see if we can get any further along solving them, and of course if anyone else knows please do post!
