Howdy Students and Mentors,
This is a reminder about groups.drupal.org usage. In the past some students/mentors have created groups specific to a summer project. This is not a healthy pattern for the groups.drupal.org site. We want groups to have long happy lives and while the topics represented by the SoC projects are interesting in the long term, the modules often aren't.
There are also scenarios where a group isn't appropriate for a project. So, don't feel like you have to make one. Projects on drupal.org have the ability to mail people about issue updates and provide RSS feeds. Consider simply using the project.
So, please do join existing groups if there is one related to your topic or, if not, consider making a new group. Some examples of how to do this with current or past projects:
- Boost Drupal Media Module Development - should - Join existing Media group.
- Import / Export API - should have - Created a general "Import/Export" group.
These policies are open to discussion - please read the current group creation policies and discuss them in the groups-drupal-org group.
