The Acquia slate theme is wonderful. Very powerful and sharp looking, and created with flexibility in mind.
I want to add the GPL photo to this theme. How can I do this? (Currently, there is no photo displaying with this theme.)

I've done that
It didn't really help, although it does list the block areas nicely.
The photo showed up by itself when I entered some text in the Mission field. (Would be nice if the manual mentioned that.)
Now, I'm trying to enable the frontpage preface sidebar.
photo visibility
I struggled with that briefly, too. It seems there has to be some content in that region for the region to be displayed, and the photo, being a region background image, does not count as "content." So, if one wants the photo to show without having any content in the region, then one can add a block with a display:none css class or a custom block that contains only a spacer gif or something. I guess one would want to choose whatever would be the smallest thing to load.
Alternately, one could take that image out of the background and instead put that image into a node or a custom block and add that to the region...

Tried that
I tried doing that; putting the photo in a block an enabling it, but it didn't work at all. (At least that I could figure out.)
Great program, this Drupal. Hard to work with, though.
This help you?
