If we do the tickets for free I can get the signups online today and we don't have to worry about bank accounts or using third-party non-drupal services in order to manage event registration as it's already set up on http://badcampuk.net.
Thoughts?

IMHO I think we should charge
IMHO I think we should charge a tenner - we will get a much better idea of numbers/commitment and also 50 - 60 people = 5-600 quid which all helps.. I can have a go at setting up eventbrite today and we can grab the 'buy ticket widget' and stick it on badcamp?

£10
I think it would be a good idea to charge £10 for the reasons above... and having guaranteed revenue makes the whole thing a lot less stressful. : )
We lose so much though...
OK well I've set them free because we lose so much info (e.g. as people register they're already on the system here, I'm not reliant on an unknown third party service which may go down etc.) and have so much extra effort just for the sake of a tenner we might as well just over-subscribe and I'm sure whoever turns up will have fun. We can order food on the day and adjust accordingly - prep the companies first.
I've already paid £450 so I'm happy to pledge another £50 so I get the "platinum" sponsorship - I suggest we do:
Platinum: £500 - should limit but don't necessarily need to
Gold: £250 -
Silver: £100 -
Bronze / Personal: £50 - unlimited
I'd be happy just to have my logo on the site and a couple of mentions - and that should go a quarter of the way to covering our absolute minimum costs (w/o food beer etc.).
