Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Thank you to everyone at the Portland Drupal Users Group for having Neil and I present last night. It was great to meet so many Drupal people from the local area and to hear your feedback and awesome experiences from DrupalCon Denver.

Quite a few of you asked for the presentation and materials we used and mentioned during our talk. We're happy to share those here (thanks Amber H. for the nudge!).

Building our DrupalCon Portland Volunteer Team
Neil, I, and eventually the local lead will spend the next month or so building our volunteer pool and meeting with candidates for track / content chair positions. Ideally we'll have most people in place by June.

We'll begin by selecting our Local Lead (if you're interested in being our Portland lead - apply!), who will then help us build out our Content team (and if you're interested in being a chair - apply!). The Content team will begin work in July by deciding on the conference Theme.

We'll do another call for onsite volunteers a month or so before DrupalCon Portland.

I'm hoping to setup a meeting in the coming weeks to do an Volunteer Recruiting meeting. Hopefully by then everyone will have had a chance to review the role types and will have a better understanding of what we're looking for so we can have an open discussion. Watch for this event posting here on the PDX Group.

In the meantime, you can sign up to volunteer!

If you've got any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact me directly.
Thanks everyone!

Can you make those links

Mixologic's picture

Can you make those links public? They are on the D.A. Intranet, or protected by google docs.

These resources are as public

stephelhajj's picture

These resources are as public as I can make them with our system settings. The presentation on googledocs is open to anyone with the link - unfortunately our intranet requires user authentification for access, which just means ado login - and anyone can set that up by clicking "create new account" on the login page.

Let me know if you are having trouble getting set up - here to help!

Stephanie

you should be able to access

you should be able to access the site using your mixologic username.

Broken login?

axolx's picture

I'm logged in via drupal.org and keep geting "You are not authorized to access this page." when I hit up DA Intranet pages. Given the login issues, I second Ryans's request to make these docs public unless there's any sensitive info in them that I'm not aware of. Go Drupal! Go open!

hm, yep can't make them more

hm, yep can't make them more public than that.
solution: shoot me your username + I'll add you manually. not ideal, but I'm pretty responsive so shouldn't be more than a few minutes til you can get in.

Can you attach the docs to a g.d.o post?

ezheidtmann's picture

They would get out of date, but at least we'd have something to read while you all figure out how to make the originals public.

thanks. my username is axolx

Are you registered on ado?

stephelhajj's picture

Are you registered on ado? You'll need to be registered there before I can add you to the group.
Just follow the link to roles + responsibilities and click "create new account".

Out of curiosity, is this a

mindewen's picture

Out of curiosity, is this a policy or technical hurdle that's keeping these documents private? If it's a policy hurdle, I would love to know the reasons behind that decision. If it's technical - well, this is a group of techies and I'm sure there are more than enough who'd be willing to help unstick things for the sake of getting the info easily accessible by the community.

stephelhajj were you able to

stephelhajj were you able to figure out the answer to this? I'm curious as well.

hey michael - yes actually :)

hey michael - yes actually :) but for the sake of sanity, we're going to keep the login access up for now.
we're working on finalizing and migrating pages from our internal handbook (which is very much a working doc) to the a.d.o site under /drupalcon and going forward will direct people there. just trying to limit the exposure to non Roles + Responsibility related content and in doing so mitigate against confusion as to what's final v. pending or outdated information. hope that makes sense :)

Thanks for answering. It's

Thanks for answering. It's good to know that the hurdle is not political or technical but just that the documents aren't ready yet. Looking forward to when they are finished and public!

I am also unable to access the documents (as logged in to both d.o and a.d.o). I tried the "create new account" so will see what happens there. My username is skjalf if you are adding people manually. Thank you.
