Start:
2009-06-17 (All day) - 2009-06-19 (All day) UTC
Event type:
Drupalcamp or Regional Summit

The following description is from the organizers:

Open Source Bridge is a completely volunteer-run conference for open source citizens held June 17-19 in Portland, Oregon. Focused on developers working with open source technologies, the event features five tracks connecting people across projects, languages, and backgrounds to explore how those developers approach their work, and why they participate in open source. The conference structure is designed to provide developers with an opportunity to learn from people they might not connect with at other events. For more information visit, http://opensourcebridge.org.

Not a dedicated Drupal conference, but there are a few sessions focusing on Drupal, and the community should find the general subject matter interesting.

Note: This event was mentioned in a previous post, but I wanted to post it as an event to help promote

This event is well worth

This event is well worth supporting, though it is a tech event and it is mostly for programmers. If they get going then we'll have a viable replacement for OsCon at a fraction of the cost It is all-volunteer run, making it much more of a true FOSS conference, not just one that calls itself FOSS while asking for your firstborn as attendance price. (Currently OSCon is $1145 and OSBridge is $250 and at the door the difference will be even more pronounced.)

They are offering a reduced rate to a number of the tech groups. Does anyone know if the same applies to us?

User Group Discount

I am one of the volunteer organizers and (zOMG) yes, Drupal user groups are under the 'user groups we want to have here.'
http://opensourcebridge.org/get-involved/for-user-groups/

"The volunteers of Open Source Bridge know that user groups are part of the lifeblood of open source, and we’d like to get your user group involved as participants and speakers.

To that end, we’re providing a user group discount code that will allow your members to register for $150, which is lower than the early bird rate and $100 off our regular registration. Enter “osb4228″ when you register to receive the discount, and be sure to mention which user group you’re a part of."

Check out the sessions and see if there are talks you're really interested in. ('Effective Code Sprinting' is high on my list of 'talks to attend'.) http://opensourcebridge.org/events/2009/sessions
We'll also be holding an unconference, and I expect to throw together a BoF for Drupal folks at least once during the three days we're all here.

Thanks for posting this, Lev, you rock. Hope to see you all there.

Completely missed this. My subscription for the group stopped when the upgrades were made to Drupal, and I just realized I hadn't seen anything in quite a while. Just fixed it so I won't miss out on any more info from the group.
