Taxonomy Fields or Regular Fields

Hi,

I'm working on a real estate agent website, and it will have a search system to filter based on property type, building type, bedroom/bathroom numbers, surface...

So I was wondering what would be the best option to organize the all content type field that will be display in a view with a map : taxo fields or "regular" fields (text, integer...).

Is there an advantage to use Taxonomy Fields over regular Fields?
Thru search I could noticed that both options were used with success. But I missing the advantage in a long run to use Taxo.
What would be more flexible?

Fields Vs. Taxonomy

I wondered that myself on a recent project that had a lot of inputs, (about 200). I started with fields and ran into issues with the admin page dying when I got close to finishing. I switched to taxonomy on all related fields, (groups of 50+ checkboxes or dozens of options in select boxes) and the admin page started behaving.

As a bonus I was able to use a script to build the vocabularies and add taxonomies from text lists saving me several hours of tedium.

So in the end it was a hybrid solution.

It looks like Taxo offers a good way to have dynamics maps markers as well with checkbox or link to narrow down results on the said map.

Not bad.

But for some unknown reason my taxo reduce the display to one term only when I load the View page, when all are suppose to show.

The filter is exposed and I have to apply the filter, set on all by default to get all the node on the view list.

It seems that the taxo filter, before being called, act by default, as if it was called on only one term even if set by default to all.

Beside that Taxo offers a good dynamic way to display markers on a map.
