A few of us are having coffee and talking Drupal on Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Jamaica Plain. You're invited! If you plan to attend, please sign up by logging in and clicking the "Sign up" button below. Knowing how many people are interested in attending can help us better select good locations in the future. People who sign up will also have last minute details (if there are any) sent to them before the meeting.
When: Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 7-9pm |
Where: BNN, in Egleston Square at 3025 Washington St, Roxbury MA 02119 |
Location
We've simply outgrown our last venue and this time we're meeting at BNN, the non-profit media center that runs Boston's public access cable television channels (BNN News and Information Channel on 9 Comcast/15 RCN and Community Access Channel (23 Comcast/83 RCN) and offers affordable training and access to media technologies and resources including two television studios, digital field production and editing equipment, a multimedia lab, and a mobile production truck, as well as a wealth of low-cost, hands-on media training classes.
This location is easily accessible by public transportation (take a bus or take the T to the Jackson Square station on the Orange Line) and there is plenty of on-street parking as well as free parking at the public lot directly across the street.
Topics
The Drupal Cafe meetings have typically been unstructured and there aren't any predetermined topics, but we will touch on the upcoming Drupal Design Camp at MIT on June 13-14. As always, if there's something that you want to talk about, just bring your laptop, a copy of Pro Drupal Development or whatever else you need.
Food and drinks!
The last Drupal Cafe was unexpectedly catered thanks to our generous attendees. Let's do it again! Donations are accepted at the door and there's a pizza place across the street. Christefano will bring an espresso machine. Leave a comment below if you have any special requests!

Thursday 6/4?
Or Wednesday 6/3? I will try to make it this time :-)

It is Thursday and not
It is Thursday and not Wednesday. Sorry about that! I recycled the previous Drupal Cafe announcement and hadn't replaced all of the old content.
Thanks to everyone who has suggested a venue. I'm waiting to hear back from someone who is generously providing a venue in Jamaica Plain but hasn't yet clarified what time on the 4th is available. Stay tuned!
Check your email
I sent you details about noon today -- maybe it went to tour spam folder? I re-sent the info again about 20 minutes ago too. I'm getting your mail fine -- send me your cell number if you dont get my email and I'll call you.

No, I'm a goof
No, I'm a goof and simply lost your email. Thanks for sending it again -- I've updated the post with location and time details -- and thanks for providing the venue!
Maybe Ula?
I'll be there, wherever 'there' is. Maybe we should try meeting at Ula Cafe. They have a good set up for pulling together a bunch of tables.

Ula closes early
Ula Cafe unfortunately closes at 7pm. June Bug by the Hi-Lo (http://www.yelp.com/biz/june-bug-cafe-jamaica-plain) might be good: the food and drinks are middling but they are usually relatively empty whenever I walk by (coincidence?).
Is there a definite venue
Is there a definite venue yet?
Yup -- It's at BNN's World Headquarters in JP/Roxbury
The details are up near the top of the posting.
