For those of you new to Drupal or Drupal camps, BADCamp is a gathering of like-minded people to discuss and learn about Drupal, an open-source content management system that is powering more of the web every year. Tell me more about the "FREE
Tell me more about the "FREE Drupal Training". I'm a Drupal newbie and certainly need all the training I can get.
Depending on the extent of the training I might be able to convince people that it is a worthwhile venture to head up to SF.
Worthwhile
If you are interested in Drupal BADCamp is the best event to attend hands down. Free training or not the quality of presentations are well worth any cost to attend. I've traveled from Utah for the last 2 years.

According to Jen Lampton (from Chapter Three) who usually organizes BADCamp, there should be 2 full days of training this year (Thursday / Friday). I'm considering doing a self-guided multilingual training based on my new book.
Chris Shattuck (Build a Module) did a self-guided training last year based on his buildamodule.com videos that was very well received. I went to a responsive web design one by Four Kitchens that was pretty decent (though it was their first run at it so there were some glitches).
I think BADCamp is the largest Drupal event besides the DrupalCons so definitely come if you can.

I had the opportunity to be a mentor at both BADCamp and DrupalCon Denver. Although BADCamp was a challenge for me, the training in Denver was great!

When I browse to URL http://badcamp.net ... I'm taken to the past 2011 event http://2011.badcamp.net
However, with the "www", the URL http://www.badcamp.net does take me to the 2012 event at http://2012.badcamp.net
This had kept me from registering thinking that the new site wasn't up yet! But I realized today to try the www. Not sure if anyone else gets the same results.
