Updating from Beta 13 to Beta 14, I got this error when running update.php:

An error occurred. https://mydomain.com/update.php?id=5&op=do
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required './sites/all/modules/os/modules/os_boxes/plugins/os_boxes_default.inc' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/html/openscholar/sites/all/modules/contrib/ctools/includes/plugins.inc on line 759

Error persists when rerunning update.

The error occurs because the os_boxes_default.inc file exists at
/sites/all/modules/os/modules/os_boxes/plugins/os_boxes_default/os_boxes_default.inc
not at
/sites/all/modules/os/modules/os_boxes/plugins/os_boxes_default.inc

I have tried restoring the database from backup and rerunning update.php. Error persists. So I restored both database and the entire file structure back. Site works fine after restore. I redownloaded the tgz to ensure that it was not corrupted during download. md5sum checks out. Attempted the upgrade again and the error persists.

So how do I update and get past this error?

Exact Same

Hey there, I'm having the exact same issue. Where you able to get yours upgraded?

we rebuilt from scratch

We could not figure out how to upgrade successfully, but at that point we had not yet released our instance to the public, and we only had a few test vsites on it, so we simply scrapped the install, did a fresh install of beta 14 and applied our custom themes and modules.

That's not going to be a solution next time though!

Fix

I remember this being an issue with ctools exportables that was fixed. The cache clear fails so the exportable never gets recreated correctly, I believe if you empty the "cache" table and then reload the problem should correct itself.

mohhess can you try to empty the cache table and then clear the cache via the UI and see if that fixes the issue?

didn't work in our case

I'm almost certain that I cleared all the caches right before I backed up the site immediately before I attempted the upgrade. That didn't fix it in our case. Hopefully it does work for mohhess.
