I don't know who is involved in OSCon in the Portland Drupal Community. Do we have a booth? Do we have volunteers? Will I get to meet Stallman? Will Linus rant on stage about Gnome?
Let me know what you know so we can drum up some support for a Drupal presence if there is not already one - or help strengthen the drupal Drupal presence that may already exist..

I don't know if there is an OSCON booth either but I have some contacts at O'Reilly that I used to get booth space a few years ago and would be willing to try them if there isn't a booth already.

Fewer booths
OSCON drastically reduced both the number and application period for the community/nonprofit booths this year. The deadline has already passed and many of the previous exhibitors we've talked to did not receive booth space this year. We've been talking to the OSCON folks (we didn't get a booth for the OSL either) about alternative plans, but nothing has come together yet.
Booth Deadline was May 2
O'Reilly sent out a reminder for us to register for a booth on April 26. I forwarded the reminder to the DA since last time the user group signed up for it instead of the DA there was grumbling. Marta responded the same day:
I've got this and will get a table for us. Sarah brought us the banner display, so we're set there too.
Thanks,
Marta
Thanks, Brian. I'm interested
Thanks, Brian. I'm interested in hearing what comes from Greg's alternative plans.
Melissa: Duly noted. I'll try to ping someone from the DA between now and the user group meeting next Wednesday.
Booth/table status pending
The DA didn't get into the nonprofit pavilion either, but they told me last week that they're working on opening up more spaces. I just pinged them again so hope to know more by Wednesday, then I will let you know. They were also open to the idea of a booth trade for DrupalCon next year as a possibility. So stay tuned. We'd love your support!
