<shibby> happy friday!
<paulthed> same to you
<shibby> would everyone rather be outside today instead of on irc?
<jwestcu> yes
<jwestcu> but that is true pretty much every day :)
<haj_> Indeed
<shibby> lol
<shibby> enewby|lunch: you still at lunch slacker?
<shibby> this actually might be a pretty quick meeting
<shibby> paulthed: someone mentioned that you might have a presentation to do?
<paulthed> I can present, I just did a presentation at Drupalcamp Charlotte last week on Drush
<paulthed> I don't believe any TriDUG folks were in attendance
<shibby> sold!
<shibby> that means you're ready to go :)
<haj_> Sounds good. Everyone should be using Drush
<shibby> what's the title of the preso?
<paulthed> "Drush for Beginners"
<paulthed> if it gets too technical, I might need Greg to help answer questions
<shibby> Greg had a conflict today, but was happy to pitch in and do a Q&A after the main presentation
<paulthed> ok, that sounds good then
--- enewby|lunch is now known as enewby
<jwestcu> anyone up for a drupal question? :)
<enewby> shibby: I is here
<haj_> paulthed: do you have a presentation deck available?
<haj_> jwestcu: Sure
<jwestcu> awesome, thanks
<paulthed> most of it was live demo. I have a few slides though
<enewby> paulthed: I'm happy to help vet some questions as well
<jwestcu> what do you all use for file management? we're looking at a couple modules but nothing seems to suit our needs
<haj_> paulthed: whatever you have would be great
<haj_> jwestcu: I haven't found a good solution yet.
<jwestcu> which are mostly being able to control access to files based on user or role, and based on role, allowing rename, move, upload, delete, mkdir, etc
<jwestcu> rats
<enewby> paulthed: I like the sound of that presentation though. I think it would be helpful for our group
<jwestcu> we are looking at IMCE and elFinder
<shibby> OK, here is the agenda i have for next Wednesday
<haj_> The UIs all are pretty bad.
<shibby> 6:30 pm - Meet & greet + pizza
<shibby> 7:00 pm - Announcements, job postings, need a job, general TriDUG business
<shibby> 7:15 pm - "Drush for Beginners" by Paul Thedinga
<shibby> 8:00 pm - Group Q&A on Drupal topics
<shibby> 8:30 pm - Wrap-up
<paulthed> enewby:  yeah sounds good. It was well received in DC Charlotte
<enewby> paulthed: that's great. Wish I could have made it
<barbbar> Want to talk about lunch meetups for a sec too?
<shibby> Any changes / modification / edits to the agenda?
<barbbar> I know Greg was trying to do one in Durham. I can get one set up in Raleigh too if folks are interested.
<barbbar> Agenda sounds great!!!!
<enewby> shibby: looks goot
<haj_> jwestcu: Check out Media module also. Sounds silly, but it could be a good option since it is designed to handle all sorts of files.
<shibby> yes, lunch meet-up...Greg was concerned about having one too close to Fourth of July
<jwestcu> haj_: thanks, i think some of the guys are looking at that one, not sure if it will let us configure access or not
<barbbar> lunch meetup - yeah, and summer tends to get sparse
<barbbar> There is coworking on the last friday of June
<haj_> jwestcu: imce certainly has a long history and lots of users to give you advice
<jwestcu> oh ok, that's good
<jwestcu> i think we're just running into some odd bugs on that one
<jwestcu> so hopefully something we can overcome
<jwestcu> but i was curious what others had found
<haj_> a long standing problem with Drupal
<jwestcu> dang
<jwestcu> we seem to have a knack for finding those :)
<haj_> you also have the option through the Services module to use external file management systems like Alfresco
<barbbar> Lunch meetup - okay - so let's do Durham later in July, and Raleigh in Auguse?
<barbbar> t"
<haj_> or DropBox or Box or any other service that has an API
<jwestcu> that's cool
<shibby> is there any other business for our meeting?
<haj_> none from me
<shibby> Since we're here, I'll mention this....
<haj_> jwestcu: I believe that an external service is the best solution
<enewby> shibby: here it comess.....drum roll
<shibby> I went to an #innovateRal meetup last night and they did a presentation on Working in the Triangle
<shibby> it's a regional marketing campaign
<paulthed> haj_:  Here are my slides. http://ge.tt/7PozvBJ/v/0   It only took about 10 minutes to go through slides and then I did a live demo for about 40 mins and maybe another 10 mins for questions
<shibby> check it out: http://www.workinthetriangle.com/ t: @workTriangleNC
<haj_> paulthed: Great. Thanks.
<shibby> oh and as enewby might have been eluding too
<shibby> I plan on stepping down as a co-organizer in August, enewby will be stepping up
* shibby appluase please
<shibby> I'll still be hanging out, but won't have the bandwidth to so some of the planning and logistics to get the meetups ready
<shibby> thank you enewby for agreeing to help out!
<paulthed> thanks enewby
<enewby> oh haha thanks shibby. actually that's not what I was getting at but thank you :)

Drupalcamp Charlotte

DavidMinton's picture

Sorry I missed the planning session. DesignHammer was at Drupalcamp Charlotte as well. Stephen Pashby and I did the talk on SEO for Drupal. We would be happy to do it for TriDUG, if there is an interest.

David Minton, Managing Partner, DesignHammer | Durham, NC, USA

Yes. SEO for Drupal would be great

If you'd like to do this presentation, we will have time to do it tonight. Please let me know. Sorry for the delay in responding. Been busy!

Jason

No SEO for Drupal this month

Jason,

Thanks for the invite, though both Stephen and I are booked tonight. We would be happy to do it for another meeting.

David

no worries

That would probably be better so that we can promote it a little bit. Any chance you guys cover anything about the recent Google Penguin update? That might draw a crowd :)
