Do most Drupalers only want contract work?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

We have a job for a full time in-house Drupal Developer and Themer. It is a great and creative environment with long term stability and growth. Is that something that Drupal folks are interested in? Would we be better off to look for contractors? This is a new arena for me and I would love to know how you all see the market and what interests you in new work. thanks!

I'd say it's pretty even...

Since it's the DC area there's a lot of full time in-house opportunities for Drupal and I know several developers that are happy with the stability that provides. I'm sure you will get some applicants that are presently employed in a Drupal-related position.

I'm more of a contractor mindset. I like not having to commute every day and a bunch more house work gets done with that extra time. And with video conferencing technology and regular meetings, I'm still a part of the team.

I see your job post for a front end Drupal developer. That's actually my specialty. What location is the job based? Is it Colombia, MD?
