Can anyone explain the different user roles in the Scholar installation of OpenScholar?
Who is an administrator? UID 1? or anyone who wishes to do whatever UID 1 can do? Can I use just UID 1 to administer the OS installation or should i create a new user and assign him "administrator" (like we use sudo in linux instead of root account)?
Who is a manager? How is he different from scholar admin?
And who is a scholar user?

The administrator role is the equivalent of user 1, you can use user 1 if you want though. Manger is one level down, they have access to create sites for other people etc...
Scholar Admin and Scholar User roles are the same in D6.

Thanks. so the people who wants a site must be assigned "Scholar Admin" r8? So i'll select "Scholar Admin" in 'u create settings' page and in LDAP Groups module?
Mapping of LDAP groups to Drupal roles
Hey Binoj David,
I have a successful OS setup with the "Scholar Admin" role being assigned just to a given set of users based on LDAP groups.
Like you said, this is done in the LDAP Groups module. I've set it up using "Group by entry".
If you need any help with this just come by the #openscholar channel in IRC and ask away. You'll probably find me there under the nickname gerundio.
Best regards,
Rolando Isidoro
