User group meeting
Our regular meetings are the first Thursday of the month.
Our next Users Group meeting is Thursday, September 6, 2-4pm in ISB 241H.

The meeting is at the UMass Integrated Sciences Building (ISB) (See map here or see description of the building here.)
Room 241H is the "fish bowl" meeting room at the end of the hall behind the elevators on the 2nd floor.

Place is currently ISB 241H. However this room is sometimes too small, so we are investigating alternatives. Reserve larger room - 140 or 145?
Kate Dorfman has office on corridor - can let us in
Normally, Steve manages access to the room; in his absence someone has to make a reservation and pick up the key (or find another room).
Re query from Adrian: posting jobs, internships on our Drupal.org site is OK
History of group
Steve gave an overview:
ca 2009 Tom Hoogendyk, who worked with Beth and Dave, suggested it as alternative to Western Massachusetts Drupal User Group, focusing on local and work related issues, UMass politics etc.
Formation of group coincided with UMass adoption and implementation of Drupal on campus
Nina Sossen set up our page on Drupal.org
Group has collaborated with Western Ma on the 2010 and 2011 Drupal Camps

Do we need a coordinator?
BCRC could run local sandboxes for presentations and workshops - Steve will try to get this set up.
Brian will present on Omega October 4.
Gary Parker had discussed Drush training/presentation for us - Dave will ask him about doing in November
Beth will present on project workflow and handoff in December

We are proposing a series of monthly "Drupal teach-in" or workshops for the campus community, addressing a variety of topics and skill levels. These could be in collaboration with OIT.
Steve will work on setting up a time and investigate possible places for demos and teaching presentations
