Hi everyone!
This is the first post from our DrupalCon Sydney profile to provide you with regular updates on the event in the lead up to February 6-9, 2013.
DrupalCon Sydney was announced on stage at DrupalCon Munich yesterday, and we launched the full event website concurrently at http://sydney2013.drupal.org
Event details
The site has all general information about the program, venue, accommodation and registration, and tickets will go on sale within the next few weeks, so please sign up to the newsletter so you can be notified as soon as they're released. There's a strict limit of 400 tickets, so make sure you get in early, as it will definitely sell out.
As far as we know, this is the first big website on the new COD 7 distribution, so please let us know if you find any bugs!
Sponsorship
A big thanks to our launch sponsors, and if you're a Drupal services company or organisation that's benefited from Drupal being free, this is a great way to give back financially and gain recognition from the community. Full details at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/sponsor-information
Please be aware that there are no "sponsorship in-kind" packages, so every company volunteering individuals' time pays standard sponsorship rates.
Session proposals
The quality of sessions at DrupalDownunder 2012 was exceptional, so this is your chance to share your Drupal knowledge and related web expertise with a global audience. Along with the usual development tracks, we're wanting to get more presentations on strategy, design and content authoring so the event reflects the breadth of use that Drupal has downunder.
Submissions are now open at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/propose-session
Training proposals
If you'd like to share your expertise in the context of a Drupal-related training session, this will be possible on Wednesday February 6. All training funds go to support the Drupal Association, and proposals can be submitted via http://sydney2013.drupal.org/training
Volunteers
Our next big push will be to finalise a fantastic program before December 2012. We'll be announcing the event Content Team within the next few weeks, so if you'd like to be a part of this or volunteer for any other roles at the event, please sign up via https://association.drupal.org/drupalcon/volunteer/sydney
Volunteering is open to anyone in the region, as DrupalCon Sydney is all about Growing Drupal Downunder!
