I'm "back in town" after taking a 3-4 year hiatus from active drupal usage. Used to be an active member of Boston and Education groups. I'm helping build a new website for my kids' elementary school PTO, WardPTO, on Drupal 7, and I have a number of questions. Hope it will be OK to post questions here and get pointers. Some of these may seem "elementary", but hopefully folks will humor me.
First question - Is anyone aware of good examples PTO websites out there? I'm especially interested in ones running on D7.

PTO?
I assume PTO is parent teacher organization or something?
I run a school district website on D7. What you have done so far looks great. What module are you using for the upcoming events, it's really nice!
Upcoming Events view
@nanharbison -- Yes, PTO = Parent Teacher Organization. And the Upcoming Events content is listed with a standard view and a filter based on NOW. The tabs between Upcoming and Recent Events on the home page is done with the Quick Tabs module.

Welcome back
Hello, Erik,
Welcome back!
You might want to check out Julio: http://drupal.org/project/julio
It has a lot of the base communication tools you would need for a PTO, and could provide a decent foundation to build from.

Julio looks cool
Hey Bill,
Julio looks cool. Wish I had discovered it a month ago. Will definitely explore and consider for future use, but I'm going forward with what I've built so far, since school starts in 3 days!
Do you know of any PTO's that are using Julio, or even just Drupal?

This is my school's PTO website in D6. http://encinoelementary.net/
Responsive and Organic Groups will probably next to integrate in.
Parents/Guardian Portal link with student
Hi
I see you managed to install and use julio. Is it possible to link student with parent/guardian?
What other info about the student can be viewed by the same?
Kind regards
