A more readable, who said what version...

[14:01] <CGMonroe> So who's here for the TriDUG meeting
[14:01] <timswezy> raises hand
[14:01] * screenack raises hand
[14:01] <timswezy> apparently I'm doing it wrong…
[14:02] <screenack> All those who believe in telekinesis, raise my hand
[14:02] <CGMonroe> Darn I forget the IRC command to do that...
[14:02] <CGMonroe> I know barb and jason joined a few minutes ago...
[14:02] <CGMonroe> are you guys there?
[14:02] <screenack> "forward slash char me"
[14:02] <paulthed1> I'm here too
[14:02] * screenack like this
[14:03] * CGMonroe remembers how
[14:03] <CGMonroe> hey paul
[14:03] <paulthed1> hello, beautiful day in the Triangle today
[14:03] <CGMonroe> FWIW - Erik's out of town this week
[14:03] * timswezy raises hand
[14:03] <cdmorris> oh hey, I'm here
[14:03] <timswezy> success!
[14:04] <timswezy> now I'm qualified for IRC kindergarten!
[14:04] <CGMonroe> anyway... anybody here have ideas/ a presentation for next week?
[14:04] <barbbar> I'm here! got distracted....
[14:05] <screenack> I'm still hot for something on incorporating responsive/mobile design
[14:05] * CGMonroe thinks he needs to talk to allan about his presentation arm twisting technique.
[14:05] <CGMonroe> Yeah I had the same thought but not sure who can present
[14:05] <CGMonroe> I think Steve Cory's doing some stuff with that
[14:05] * screenack scans the room for volunteers
[14:06] <barbbar> Rules would be cool - we heard a lot about them in Asheville, and I actually used them on a Drupal commerce installation!
[14:06] <screenack> Yo barbara!
[14:06] <screenack> I like that suggestion as well
[14:06] <CGMonroe> OMG - I have two "fallback" presentations and Rules was one of them.
[14:06] <barbbar> Drupal commerce with rules is sooooo kewl...
[14:07] <barbbar> Responsive - maybe we can talk Diana Woodhouse into talking about the UNC stuff.
[14:07] <CGMonroe> Barb - your not going to make it right... don't you have a conflict.
[14:08] <barbbar> She's sticking to three main widths - not too granular - but i know she's done a lot on the responsive front.
[14:08] <barbbar> Yes, unfortunately, I won't be there this time. Have to herd Buddhists!
[14:08] <barbbar> Or at least potential buddhists!
[14:08] <CGMonroe> I think anything related to responsive would be nice
[14:09] <CGMonroe> Even if it's just a "here's my site and here's what I did" prez
[14:09] <CGMonroe> Do you think we can get her for next week?
[14:10] <mrconnerton1> for those interested in responsive, I just started a site with d7+omega+panels which all works well together for some hotness. Should check it out.
[14:10] <barbbar> I pinged her
[14:10] <screenack> "Herding Buddhists" ;) Sounds zen
[14:10] * mrconnerton1 is now known as mrconnerton
[14:10] <screenack> Let's skype Matthew in?
[14:10] <barbbar> actually tibetan.... lots of chanting and big horns!
[14:11] <barbbar> mrconnerton1 - sounds like a presentation opp!
[14:11] <screenack> Don't you live in KY?
[14:11] <mrconnerton> AVL
[14:11] <barbbar> I'm playing with fusion just a little bit - it has some responsive options as well (but I haven't gotten very far).
[14:11] <mrconnerton> I was tossing it out there more as a "hey this is neat" not a "imma drive to your meetup " :-P
[14:12] <barbbar> Darn!!!
[14:12] <mrconnerton> Although since its been a month since AVL camp I ought to start the local meetups here again.
[14:12] <screenack> I tried doing a responsive design in fusion, but I hit a snag
[14:12] <barbbar> Me too, since i'm not going to make it either.
[14:12] <CGMonroe> Anyway, a couple of fall back ideas I had where:
[14:12] <CGMonroe> Rules
[14:12] <screenack> Well, to help with symmetry, I've been to Black Mountain twice in 2 weeks, though not drupal related
[14:12] <CGMonroe> Views Bulk Operations (aka VBO)
[14:13] <screenack> VBO rocks.
[14:13] <paulthed1> how about Features? Has anyone done a pres on that? I know Erik Newby mentioned doing one in the past. But Rules and VBO are good ideas too
[14:13] <screenack> VBO is like drush; once you wrap your head around it, you wish you used it sooner
[14:13] <CGMonroe> Erik's out this week, I pinged him about features but haven't heard back.
[14:14] <paulthed1> ok, I could help with the features presentation too. Could show how it works with drush commands
[14:14] <CGMonroe> RE VBO - Scary thing is that I figured out how to code my own operations... and that REALLY opens a can of to-dos
[14:14] <paulthed1> and the basics of the modle
[14:15] <CGMonroe> Hmm, if your willing to do the intro to features / I can do some of the advanced stuff
[14:15] <cdmorris> I like the Features idea, VBO sounds cool too, never heard of it.
[14:16] <CGMonroe> e.g. Strongarm and a quick intro to the coding API?
[14:16] <paulthed1> yeah, I'm willing. I use features quite a bit, so comfortable with it
[14:16] <barbbar> cool. we need to start recording these things!
[14:17] <screenack> Recording would be awesome
[14:17] <barbbar> Something else we should talk about sometime - doing a Drupal Camp here in Raleigh.
[14:17] <barbbar> I sensed interest in Asheville.
[14:17] <CGMonroe> We have the tech... but need a "film maker" to run the camera, etc.
[14:17] <paulthed1> yeah, during the closing comments at DCAVL someone mentioned the Raleigh/Durham folks should have one
[14:18] <screenack> I don't have a camera, but would be happy to operate and prep for web if provided
[14:18] * SteveCory (cory@152.2.57.63) has joined #drupal-nc
[14:18] <cdmorris> I'd attend/help with a DrupalCamp Raleigh, that sounds great
[14:19] <screenack> Ideally we would have a mic near the presenter
[14:19] <CGMonroe> I can see about getting the equipment for next thurs... I know barb has a streaming account
[14:20] <barbbar> Ustream has worked really well.
[14:20] <cdmorris> You could always post afterwards on vimeo
[14:20] <barbbar> You can watch me herd buddhists!
[14:20] <screenack> What about Google Hangout for video streaming?
[14:20] <screenack> I watched a ustream video this morning; commercials every 15 minutes
[14:20] <CGMonroe> RE: Camp - I think we probably need to have a face to face about this...
[14:21] <barbbar> Hangout is better is you want folks on the other end to participate. Ustream is great for more one way.
[14:21] <timswezy> I can make a t-shirt for the camp…
[14:21] <paulthed1> CGMonroe: Agreed
[14:21] <CGMonroe> I'll post a query about best times/ interest in being part of it on TriDUG and try to get something together.
[14:22] <barbbar> Camp: I agree. Cool. I can help as well.
[14:22] <barbbar> Maybe we could meet at Bull City Coworking one evening?
[14:22] <barbbar> Or if smaller group, just about anywhere.
[14:23] <barbbar> Update on Responsive - Diana is willing to talk
[14:23] <screenack> I thought BCC closes at 5?
[14:23] <screenack> Greg, note Barbara's arm-twisting skills
[14:23] <CGMonroe> Yeah, my first thought was next cowork day would be good but some folks may not make a daytime meeting
[14:23] <barbbar> if you schedule it, it sounds like he'll stay open for evenings
[14:24] <SteveCory> I always thought she just used a mind melt
[14:24] <barbbar> I know he's done others. But it might be some $$.
[14:24] <CGMonroe> No, we've actually talked about this.. lol
[14:24] * screenack out of the shadows; Steve Corey ladies and gentlemen!
[14:25] <barbbar> :D
[14:25] <SteveCory> :)
[14:25] <CGMonroe> The support voiced here tipped it over.
[14:25] <CGMonroe> Hey steve aren't you doing stuff with responsive theming
[14:25] <SteveCory> UNCDUG has been discussing it in their meetings yeah
[14:26] <barbbar> Sounds like we have a plan for this meeting - maybe responsive for next time?
[14:26] <CGMonroe> Yeah... here's what I've got:
[14:26] <CGMonroe> 6:30 Meet and greet
[14:26] <CGMonroe> 7:00 Announcments
[14:26] <CGMonroe> 7:10 Intro to Features (Paul T)
[14:26] <CGMonroe> 8:00 StrongArm/ API intro (Greg M)
[14:26] <CGMonroe> 8:40 Questions / other folks on feature use
[14:26] <CGMonroe> 9:00 Mellow Mushroom
[14:26] <screenack> cgmonroe++
[14:27] <paulthed1> sounds good
[14:27] <SteveCory> +1
[14:27] <timswezy> cool
[14:28] <barbbar> I'll miss you guys!
[14:28] <screenack> ?
[14:28] <CGMonroe> Do you want to use StrongArm in your part paul?
[14:28] <CGMonroe> I can cover the "how to find site settings with strongarm" in mine.
[14:28] <CGMonroe> er.. maybe intro strongarm in your part?
[14:28] <paulthed1> I can mention it, but you can probably give it more details in yours
[14:29] <paulthed1> yeah, that sounds good. Just introduce strongarm in mine
[14:29] <CGMonroe> K - sounds like a plan.
[14:29] <CGMonroe> Some neat features "tricks" with strongarm.. like transferring content type aliases
[14:30] <CGMonroe> K so Thursday's covered... co-working at the end of the month... and possibley responsive theming for next month.
[14:32] <CGMonroe> Any other TriDUG biz?
[14:32] <screenack> none here
