ello there
I am creating a Wiki type celebrity profile website in drupal 6.x
Just like we have user profile page where user can upload his pics, videos, post blog or articles. How can I create Celebrities profile page where any User can upload that celebrity image, video, can write about his blogs, post articles, edit bio or create quizzes or polls.
In profile of users, only author can edit or make changes to his profile. But in celebrities Profile page anybody can edit.
Please help... How this can be done.
I am newbie in drupal.

You could do this with CCK
Create a content type called celebritiy and use CCK to create fields for information about the celebrity.
That would be a start.

Yeah, think outside the box re. profiles. For ease of setup, you might consider actually using something like Organic Groups, and creating a group node for each celebrity, since you want lots of content associated with each celebrity. Also look at node references.
Alternatively, you could use Content Profile, if you still want a user account associated with a celebrity, on the off chance they want to log in... You could probably create a Content Profile CCK type and set it as a Group type (not sure how well that would work, but in theory it should be fine).

OG For Associate Content Types?
Hi,
I've actually been learning my way around Drupal and looking for the best method of attack for essentially this same idea. I've written a program outside of Drupal that essentially gathers NBA player statistics when run (cron) and updates the database with the new information. Basically one file exists that contains all of the update and display code. The file self replicates when when/if new information about a new player is found, hence creating new tables in the database as well as a new page.
I've been interested in Organic Groups for quite some time now but I haven't played with it at all because I just haven't gotten the impression that it would be very useful in my situation, which I understand is 95% likely to be an invalid assumption. If OG is good for associating content, perhaps it would be best to take a step back and create a group for each team and then display the player data and statistics as part of that group/node/team? I've been under the assumption that groups were more personalized and made for members.
Your idea is interesting though, any chance you could go further into the idea or tip me in the right direction as to a source that might help me understand this a bit better better?
