The Drupal Gold Coast October meetup is coming up next week. Join us with your Drupal questions, new members most welcome!
One of the topics up for discussion will be an idea Jaymie has put forward, and that is to find a QLD based charity in need of a website and donate our time as a group to build them a new site. It should provide a great opportunity to cover Drupal development techniques, give us a nice volunteer project, and spread the Drupal love!
As usual the floor will be open for anyone to share a presentation, a screencast or Q&A.
When:
Tuesday, October 16, 2012
19:00 - 21:00
Where:
Level One OntheNet Building
165 Varsity Parade, Varsity Lakes, Australia
Thanks again to OnTheNet for providing the room and their continued support of Drupal.

Meetup summary
Nice to see everyone this evening (even if my Skype connection from Chile was a little flaky at times!). Great to see three new faces, all of whom are pretty new to Drupal which meant the conversation tended towards more introductory topics. Quick summary:
Looking forward to getting some ideas flowing around the charity site. See every next month!
Good Start
I am starting my six months steep learning curve today. Hope to tell you some good stories about my experiences from starting with an empty cloud to some fully functional multi-purpose websites. One is a web shop project and the other one is a local community website with all sorts of community activities. It is sink or swim :-)
Good luck
Good on you Ger, nice to meet you tonight. Look forward to hearing how your projects go, and helping out with the learning curve. Despite some speed bumps you're sure to encounter, it really is worth sticking with it.
If you can spare some time to volunteer on our charity site we're building as a the Gold Coast group please do jump on board: http://drupalgoldcoast.com/dgc/node/98 - there's certain to be work for all skill levels and hopefully something to learn for everyone.
See you next month.
