Updates on Regional Drupal meetup in Mumbai on 14Th Oct

Mumbai Druplers,

Would like to thank everyone who attended regional meet. The best part of this meetup was the initiative to involve students, who interacted with peoples from Industry, working on Drupal.Students were really curious to know about Drupal.I am really exited to get student community on-board.

In this meetup, we talked on Drupal 8 initiatives, we explained to Druplers the key new initiatives being taken by core development team on configuration management, twig, views in core, responsive web.Thanks to Bharat for taking the session.

We further discussed the key challenges around Drupal Mumbai community, listing it below
1. Getting Leaders on board to drive this initiative and sustain it.
2. Need for centralized system to keep information of all community members, this will make it easy for any one to get in touch with other member.
3. Fortnightly Newsletter.
4. Recording meetup sessions and posting it on meetup for those who could not come.
5. Making specific agenda, this will help developers to focus more.
6. Facebook/Twitter account for spreading the information and knowledge
7. Better publicity, reaching out to larger crowd.
8. Student initiatives
9. Information on meetup should be more clear.

We also discussed on building a leadership board, who together will take initiatives and actions to drive the community to build it larger and stronger. Following people came forward to form the leadership Board, who will be involved in taking key initiatives

We all decided to have next weekup on 28th Oct, which will be on "Hacking Omega Theme". Idea behind this meetup is to have developers understand responsive web by Hacking into "Omega Theme framework", and then have code sprint to resolve some pending issue in Omega.
