A wee bit late with this due to availability of the space, so the next Drupal Drinks gathering will take place on Thursday 29th November from 6:30pm onwards.
So we're in Good Creative's (http://www.good-creative.com/) boardroom as usual. The office is in South Block (http://www.southblock.co.uk/) on the 4th Floor and we'll have access till 7:30pm.
The format will be 2 topics with 10mins or so of presentation followed by questions and general chat, before we head to the pub.

I'd be interested if anyone has enough experience to give a brief talk about mail generation - in particular PHPMailer ?

Swift Mailer
I've used Swift Mailer before although not in Drupal (it was in my own cms framework), but it appears to have a Drupal module too.

It does make sending easy from a code point of view, to send HTML & Text mails together and adding attachments was as easy as I've seen. No idea about how it integrates with Drupal or what it offers through the admin.
