The monthly Waterloo Regional Drupal Users Group will be on the 15th of October.
As a newcomer to the group I've volunteered to provide a bit of an overview of how GATE Village is put together as way of introduction -- some of the lessons learned, the lessons yet to learn, the innovations we've developed and the future direction.
GATE Village is not your ordinary web site and the direction I'm taking it from a business standpoint has meant that the technology has had to find a balance that is very difficult to achieve ... a single place that can accommodate both the novice and the expert community / web builder; simple yet powerful. And of course, it has to perform well (or nobody will use it). Drupal has proved to be a fantastic framework and I'll try to highlight where Drupal has helped (and where it has hindered) development of GATE Village.
The meeting will be at The Working Centre as per usual, 58 Queen Street South, Kitchener, ON N2G 1V6
