-Presentation: Building a kickass Drupal dev environment. Jitesh Doshi will go over building a local environment for beginners and more advanced high performance environments:
Will cover:
- Web server: Nginx instead of Apache
- Database server: MariaDB instead of MySQL
- Installing WPN-XM package that includes most of the above.
- IDE - either Eclipse or NetBeans
- Database client - HeidiSQL instead of MySQL-Admin
- Command shell - Git Bash instead of Putty, because you need to SSH, but you also need to work locally.
- Settings up XDebug for interactive debugging
- Using SSH tunnel for remote database session as well as PHP debugging session
- Setting up VMs with VirtualBox and TurnkeyLinux

Just a reminder to everyone that this meeting is tonight. Hope to see you there. Also don't forget this is about a killer dev environment so if you have friends that don't use Drupal but other CMS systems or PhP this would be a great meeting to attend.

As JCL324 posted, I too had planned to connect via Google Hangout. However, I "suspect" that this broadcast was never implemented, since I never saw any URL posted either under the comments or in the #drupal IRC channel. If so, that's too bad, since I was looking forward to the Jitesh Doshi presentation.
Of course, maybe I just didn't understand how to make the Google Hangout connection.
