There is an up coming policy update for PayPal which will enable ZAR for South African users and is set to go into effect on the 20th of Feb 2013.
You can read more about it here https://cms.paypal.com/al/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/upc...

Such good news and long overdue!
I lose R6 on every e-commerce transaction - often more than the margin on the product due to bank fees. They changed their fee structure 6 months ago, and it is making any kind of ecommerce development unfeasible.
Perhaps this will help - especially if you don't have to repatriate funds each time because I pay credit card transaction fees on every PalPal transfer (in and out) also.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.
