Bummer that there was no Drupal Rainbow gathering at DrupalCon Munich (that I knew about, anyway). This thread is to plan one for Portland. Any locals have ideas?

Portland Perspective
While I suspect there are others actually living IN Portland that may have more current knowledge... I'm from there, just up the road, and have quite a few connections.
There are bars and nightlife just across the Willamette River from the OCC, site of DrupalCon Portland... it really just depends on what sort of event/gathering we'd be looking for. :)

I'm sure there'll be a BOF; the tricky part is having an event away from the con. And the tricky part of THAT is finding a time when there aren't any huge, can't-miss events.
Perhaps we should revisit the specifics in a couple of months, after the other big evening events have been announced. We can fit in in the cracks.
10pm on any night is probably safe, although that could threaten to exhaust us for the next day. And there's always dinner.

Bladwin and I have just moved
Bladwin and I have just moved to Portland on 4/1 and we've been to the Fox & Hounds (https://www.facebook.com/thefoxandhoundspdx) several times now. It's just over the river from the convention center and since we should all have the free 5-day Trimet pass it's a quick train ride. It's a decent size space and they also serve pretty decent food.
I hope we can organize maybe a BoF or something else during the day (?) so we don't compete with all the other evening parties/events. Maybe just again like we did in Denver, we grabbed our lunch and took it to a room and hung out. We'll have to see if the same logistics (empty room, boxed lunch) could work this time too.

Side note on a daytime meeting
In Denver I went to that lunch after just having my nails painted by... who were those two people? I think they were sisters who are also Drupalists. They did a great job putting a Druplicon on my thumb. :)
I just had a vision of asking them to come and paint nails while we lunch. Not that painted nails = queer. Just fun! (regardless of your gender).

I have my Portland tickets booked and it would be great to join for a few beers. I would suggest around 7 or 8pm at a pub on one of the nights, so the early people can make an appearance, and the late crowd can drift in when they like.

Public transit from the convention center's not great, but it's only a mile and a half, so cabs should be reasonable.
