Drop Shipping

I am about to launch into adding a store to a farily new site. I have not one before so I am doing some research. It would appear that for my needs Ubercart would be a better fit than the Drupal Commerce modue if for no other reason than Ubercart sounds more user friendly and easier to implement out of the box. Given that this is a first endeavor for me and I would like to get something implemented in a couple weeks time, I am leaning that way.

I am less concerned about implementing Ubercart in general than I am with the need to do drop shipping. We will not manage a physical inventory but will rather be selling books from several small publishers. I need the ability to for someone to submit an order that could combine products from 2 or more publishers, and handle the notification to them for them to handle all the details of shipping.

We would however collect the payment on this site and would need to handle disbursement of monies to the publishers as well.

So, with Ubercart, are there additional modules that will aid and assist in what I need to do? I would appreciate any input you can provide.

This is going on a Drupal 6 site.
