Bring your laptops to this meetup because we'll be installing Sublime Text 2 (if you haven't got it already) and learning some tips, tricks, shortcuts, and plugins that can make coding more efficient, including Emmet (Zen coding) and Git integration. Evan Lovely will do the main presenting, though if you have your own tips and lessons to share please bring them!

Parking is on the street and the #20 bus has a stop right in front of the door / across the street. Please signup if you're interested since the space is a bit limited.

Shortcuts:

  • Cmd+p - fuzzy search anything
    • ":" - type the line number to jump to it
    • "@" (or Cmd+r) - Jump to symbol
    • "/" - type the directory name you want to search
  • Shift+Cmd+ [right or left bracket] - Switch tabs
  • Shift+Cmd+T - reopen tab
  • Shift+Cmd+p - Shortcut to menu commands
  • Cmd+j - combines adjacent lines
  • Ctrl+m - bounces between brackets
  • Ctrl+Shift+m - Selects everything in container
  • Cmd+l - expand selection
  • Cmd+Ctrl+ [up and down] - Moves selection up and down
  • Cmd+click - place multiple cursors

For Mac users:

  • Cmd+click the file name in the window to see directory structure
    • Click on the folder name to launch it in Finder
