If some simple lessons could be produced on how to test for some common accessibility issues and posted to http://drupalladder.org it might garner more help in testing patches for accessibility.

I do think that would be great. My team's just starting going through pieces of the Drupal Ladder and finding it quite interesting.

Accessibility Testing
As I'm sure you know, there are many freely available tools for automated testing. We use several of them at Iowa and have put together some job aides for assessing common issues like ALT text for images, form labels, document and heading structures, and the like. We're currently working on some on-demand video tutorials for accessibility testing, as well (with captions and transcripts).
Pretty sure my handlers would approve of sharing this in the community, if people are interested.
