Hi,
I've set up many drupal stand alone sites, and I need advice on my first multisite. These are the specs:
1) Main global site in multiple languages (e.g., peace.org, Eng, French, Arabic)
2) Subdomains, with unique themes, languages, content, and some with unique urls (cryrwanda.com = rwanda.peace.org,, Eng, French, Rwandan)
3) iraq.peace.org, English, Arabic
Key content is multimedia stories and discussions. I'd love to "cc" some discussions to global and/or regional sites - like an international discussion on International Peace Day, but local discussions on the Iraq situation. Can I allow users to have the option to post an English contribution to any subdomain, but an Arabic one only to the Iraqi one easily?
Would multisites, domain access, or something else suit me better? Any caveats to avoid as I build the main site first, then add subdomains as future possibilities?
What about categories? I understand these are shared under Domain Access. I haven't even used them in a multilingual site. Any caveats, or can I configure them flexibly as I think of use cases in the future?
Thanks,
Carole

I can't say I have much
I can't say I have much experience with multilingual sites, multisite or otherwise, but, as I've said before on this group, if the question is "I want to share X among sites," Domain Access is the answer. Or, at least in this case, your best bet. You should examine DA's documentation with regards to multi-lingual sites, and if you can't find an answer, throw a post into DA's issue queue - Ken Rickard (agentrickard) is almost fanatical about providing support for his pet projects.

Does sound like Domain access
Does sound like Domain access but also sounds like you might be able to pull that off with Taxonomy theme / access and some clever naming to force people to tag things as the language they're posting it to.
