User group meeting
We've had some really great themed meetups recently, but sometimes that can get a bit monolithic and requires quite a bit of preparation from presenters. This month we're bringing back the Lightning Presentation format!
Lightning presentations are quick 5 minute demos or how-tos. Show everyone what you've been working on. Share a tip or trick you just learned. Get feedback on a challenge you're working to resolve.
If you'd like to give a Lightning presentation, leave a comment below.
As usual, the meetup will take place at 6pm at the OpenSourcery office (1636 NW Lovejoy St).
Following the meetup, we'll head over to the Lucky Lab (1945 NW Quimby) for food, drinks and more socializing.

I recently went through the process for getting a module from sandbox to approved status. I could give a quick presentation on things to know that I wish I'd known going into it all for those who may be interested.

Yep, you're in (see Jonathan's comment below). Essentially, we'll run anyone who comments here with a lightning talk, then open it up for impromptu lightning talks.

Lightning presentations are a sort of anything-Drupal-goes scenario, so long as they are less than the allotted time limit, so I think you're in if you want to make the necessary preparations.
Ruby based rapid prototyping tool
I've been working on developing a ruby based prototyping tool that lets you quickly put together common drupal snippets into pre-themed layouts. Still in the alpha stage of development, but was thinking of trying to share a quick presentation of it. Think this fits? Or maybe save it for a longer presentation?
Sounds interesting to me.
Sounds interesting to me. Lets queue it up for a lightning presentation and if people seem really in to it, maybe we can schedule a full presentation followup for next month (or whenever you feel it's more beta/demoable)
documentation standards
I recently had a bit of a revelation, reading the documentation and coding standards. I think I'd like to share on that a little bit - what documenting can do for you...probably sounds more boring than reading out of the phone book, but documentation was a high point of my last week, if you can believe it.
PublicAlerts.org D7 bootstrap responsive launch
My schedule continues to keep me from attending a meetup unfortunately, but if I was going, I would want to spread the word about the re-launch of the City of Portland Bureau of Emergency Management's site
www.PublicAlerts.org
Which was re-launched at the end of last month in Drupal 7 (the first one for the city) with a mobile responsive twitter bootstrap subtheme. It relies on feeds to aggregate alerts from various feeds including twitter and auto tweets or re-tweets certain alerts to the official PublicAlerts twitter feed. We plan on making the project available to emergency type agencies in other regions.
Multisource aggregation
Multisource aggregation sounds really cool. I'd love to have you demo it at a future meetup if you'd like to work on scheduling together... maybe we can plan it further out to try to deal with scheduling conflicts?
Wow, the public alerts site
