Commerce Kickstart 7.x-2.4 on BOA 2.0.5

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

added to /static/commerce_kickstart-7.x-2.4
chmod -r 777
platform added successfully in Aegir

Then when I try to add first site, it errors on install:

The external command could not be executed due to an application error.
Drush was not able to start (bootstrap) the Drupal database

..then it lists a lot of my drushrc aliases from other site. Install fails, and the website directory is not deleted.

I just updated to BOA 2.0.5 today...did not see a problem, other sites work fine that I had installed before.

You need to replace

You need to replace message_notify with message_notify-7.x-2.x-dev version - see: http://drupal.org/node/1782034

This is what we did in BOA-2.0.6-dev http://drupalcode.org/project/octopus.git/blob/HEAD:/aegir/scripts/Aegir...

Note that it affects both Commerce Kickstart and Commons 3.

Thank you, but...

I tried that, I replaced the message notify module with the same version as your 2.0.6-dev script,

static/commerce_kickstart-7.x-2.4/profiles/commerce_kickstart/modules/contrib/message_notify

I re-verified platform (worked)
deleted the website directory in sites/
re-tried install, same error:

Running: /data/disk/bagua/tools/drush/drush.php --client_email='zkrebs@gmail.com' @qiuniversity.com provision-install-backend --backend 2>&1

The external command could not be executed due to an application error.
Drush was not able to start (bootstrap) the Drupal database. Hint: This error often occurs when Drush is trying to bootstrap a site that has not been installed or does not have a configured database. Drush was attempting to connect to : Drupal version : 7.20 Site URI

Then it lists all of my Drush aliases.

Later on I see stuff like

rmdir(/static/commerce_kickstart-7.x-2.4/sites/../private): Permission denied FileSystem.php:104

Update

zkrebs's picture

Still not working, tried the Commerce Kickstart Dev too.

Next thing I'll try: install locally, import the site.

I have installed commerce kickstart on BOA

I don't exactly remember everything I did, but I am able to automatically commerce kickstart on the site. It doesn't send me the automatic email with the password info. Additionally, I have been unable to import my product nodes using feeds on the site. Not sure if it's site-specific or platform specific. I have been able to import nodes and products but they don't show up in the listings. I know they are in the database because when I upload them again it states that the products have been uploaded.

update

I was able to do the full install on my local machine, then import it.

However, the local import failed short on loading all the demo data, so looks like I'll have to re-do it.

PHP-CLI 5.3 is required

omega8cc's picture

Are you sure you have _PHP_CLI_VERSION=5.3 in the .bagua.octopus.cnf file and thus /opt/local/bin/php path at the top of /data/disk/bagua/tools/drush/drush.php?

EDIT: It worked

zkrebs's picture

Thank you, Omega8cc, your suggestion worked. It did load all the demo data, but otherwise everything happened magically and awesomely.

I did not know to do that, perhaps my ignorance, hopefully this thread will be a nice warning for folks.

EDIT: Some things did not work.

The primary menu, with items like: collection/drink just show a 404 error page. Not that I care too much, but just FYI. I am suspicious of things getting botched in the complicated install. My site showed up with no shopping cart block (like the kickstart demo)...as well.

It should work if you have

omega8cc's picture

It should work if you have enough RAM/CPU, since this distro is pretty heavy. Just check how it works on our demo server at https://demo.aegir.cc - access via http://omega8.cc/demo

Example site (can be deleted when the demo is re-imaged): http://ck2x.demo.aegir.cc
