Hey all! In the likely event of my attendance at DrupaCon this year, I would really like to avoid hotel expenditures. It seems frivolous to me, especially when there's such a large community of people I could reach out to and possibly find a place to lay my head between days.
Maybe others would be interested in trying this, too, so here's a thread travelers and potential hosts can post requests and availability to.
About me: from Berkeley, I recently moved to DC to work for Acquia on a high-profile project. I'm clean, courteous, and happy to buy beer and/or cook (if time permits).
About you: close to public transportation that can get me to DrupalCon within a reasonable amount of time in possession of a couch, floor, or tent in the backyard.

I am not so close in...
But bump... :-)
+1...
TheNeoLobster, hotels are crazy expensive for solo, but if you don't get any couch surfing backers, maybe splitting a room. I'd be willing to entertain that. Trying to minimize my costs as well.
Air BnB?
Has anyone looked into Air BnB options? I'm sure you could find a much cheaper-than-hotel arrangement and I've had good experiences with the service.
