Hi,
For a while now we've been doing our regular 3rd Monday pub meetups and 1st Monday 'Drupal Give' sessions where we work on issues and I've been talking about the need to diversify and grow the events and club.
I'm currently working on a commerce project and keep reading issues from Kevin, Richard, and Guy - we do seem to have a little enclave of Drupal Commerce talent here so I'm thinking some kind of 'eCommerce' 'Commerce Online' event with perhaps 2 or 3 talks, maybe afternoon/evening or lunch event targeted at Brighton Digital Agencies & end-users.
Discuss ;)
Oh, and I have details of who to contact at Sallis Benney theatre / Uni of Brighton re holding the next Brighton DrupalCamp there, would be a great location as keynote would hold 250+ and there's plenty of rooms for sessions and BoFs, and it's in central Brighton. Is there anyone in the group who is good at event organising who could follow up? I think it may be the same person I didn't get on with when I got told to stop filming at the coops event there the other week so stormed out... :D
Look forward to your thoughts.
Steve

Commerce Camp Brighton?
Thanks for starting the conversation Steve!
There is definitely a little concentration of Commerce expertise / interest in Brighton and I've been thinking for a while that it would be a good idea to have a Commerce-based event down here.
What you are proposing sounds great, but what about thinking a little bigger and putting something together like Frontend United but for Commerce? I appreciate the limiting factor is volunteers and sponsorship, but I think we could get some interest and adequate sponsorship for a focussed 1-2 day event.
If anyone's interested how about a planning / feasibility meet up next week?
Richard
Go Big!
I'm all up for going big - why not? I'm loving working with Commerce - such a joy from ubercart pains/panes!
Might need to tap your commerce brains next week anyway so more than happy to meet up ;)
When is good for you/Kev/Guy/etc.?
meetup
I'm not a drupal dev but a designer looking for Drupal support. I'm at the start of the learning curve but would be interested in attending. Wed nights is out for me but daytime in Brighton should be good depending on client committments.
Planning Meeting on Monday 22nd?
Hi
I can meet on Monday evening if anyone else is around.
Depending on who is interested, I could also make a daytime meeting next week.
Richard
Am following this thread with interest...
If you decide to do a special day, please give as much notice as possible and I might try and get the day off.
I'd be up for it
Hello chaps! I'd be up for coming over to Brighton for something like this. Would be a great excuse to catch up with you lot too.
Yes - sounds like a great
Yes - sounds like a great plan - ecommerce is a no brainer as people can see how to make money from an ecomm site, as you say lots of local experience.
I would prefer an evening meet, say use one of the drupal meet slots..
We can most prob put some marketing/org time into an event.
I'm In
I'd be interested in helping this get set up/attending/speaking at/making cookies for attendees/whatever!
Like Steve, I'm thinking commerce is a breath of fresh air compared to doing so much with ubercart in the past, and I'm eager to get more involved with commerce overall.
Also, it's a great excuse for an event! If we started planning now for a larger event, maybe we could have something ready for Brighton Digital Festival?
Planning Pub Meet?
Hi,
Great, sounds like there is some interest in this!
Shall we meet up on Monday night in Brighton say 8PM to sketch out some ideas?
What's the usual pub of choice?
Richard
A week on Monday?
I was hoping a few more would reply - let's give it a few more days and see, am bit packed up with work this next week and we only just met last Monday.
I'm up for meeting tomorrow if more reply, or later in the week / the Monday after (although that's London Drupal drinks probably but doubt I'll be going).
I am happy to meet today or
I am happy to meet today or later in the week, Me and Jeni talked about moving the Take part meetup to next Monday as the first Monday is another Bank holiday but we can have it as a plan meet instead.
Definitely up for it
I would definitely come along to a week day or evening event on Drupal Commerce and would bring a few people with me. I would also be willing to discuss sponsorship based on scale, location etc.
Next Monday
Next Monday would work better for me for an initial planning meeting. Depending on the how much time we need we could still possibly do a bit of the take part stuff as well, or break off into groups who'd like to do one or the other.
Me too
I'd prefer next Monday too - planned shopping & chilli making for tonight ;)
Next monday is best for me
Next monday is best for me too!
We would've come along to the take part in any case so happy to get involved :)

Booked
I just submitted the booking request for the Skiff on 29 April at 19:00. I just said to cancel our 6 May booking and replace it with this one. I'll let you know as soon as it's confirmed, but it was shown as available on the calendar so we should be good to go.
Thanks Jeni
