We hope you can join us for the next meeting of the Spokane Day-Time Drupal Learning and Co-Working Group!
Note: We usually meet the 3rd Thursday of the month; in May we're doing it the 2nd Thursday due to scheduling conflicts.
- When
- Thursday, May 9, 2013, 10 AM to noon
- Where
- Spokane County Library - Argonne branch, 4322 N. Argonne Road, Millwood. We meet in the large conference room - enter from the door out in the hallway before you go into the area with the books
- What
- Learning and "co-working" time - bring your laptop! Come with a project you're working on, a desire to volunteer to improve Drupal in some way (documentation, programming, design, marketing etc.), a question about Drupal you would like to get an answer to, or a desire to help others with their projects and questions. Or just come and observe.
- Who
- Everyone is welcome -- the only prerequisite is having some interest in Drupal. This group is small and friendly, and consists mostly of self-employed individuals who prefer to meet during the day to share knowledge about Drupal, and you're welcome to join us! Experience levels of attendees typically covers everything from novice to expert, so you'll fit right in.

Today we discussed:
- Using the Media module vs. the core Image module for image uploads
- Using the Omega theme, plus Delta, Omega Tools, and Context, to make a responsive site
- The Nice Menu module for drop-down and pull-right menus
We had 6 people in attendance -- thanks for coming, and I hope if you weren't here this time, that you'll come to our next meeting (date/time/place should be announced later today in this group).

Thanks for the overview of the new Omega theme. It looks like it will be great way to layout a site. Lots of options and lots to learn.

Being the junior person of this group, I really appreciate these meetings. It's great to have people of this group's caliber who are both able and so willing to help newbees. I've never had a question that hasn't gotten a thorough and accurate response and the topics that come up are always very relevant to what I'm doing.

I agree completely. I have been coming to the group meetings for quite a while (and still have so much to learn.) Jennifer always has great information and answers to share. If we don't have specific questions, she brings ideas of topics we can cover. At the end of every meeting, I feel even more excited about Drupal than I did the month before.
