Drupalistas Study Group rockin the sexy slider, er, uh, "slider popout panel module"

The Drupalistas Study Group has been working on our latest project, a lightweight popout/slider text box - different than a colorbox because it does not automatically close on click away. You must click a button to close it.

In my search for such a popout I came across a little script. Our group has decided to get our module-building-workout by making this into a configurable module. Susan Fox, sfox2681 has taken this project by the horns and has made some great headway. She has the module working that creates the popout/slider and the next step will be to use some quicktabs-like functionality to be able to populate the slider with any kind of content from your Drupal site.

(The early name of the slider - sexy slider - was 'inspired' by the tutorial we got the script from (“How To Create A Sexy Vertical Sliding Panel Using jQuery And CSS3 ”). Susan cleaned up our act. lol)

Will this module change the world, nah, will it even be offered up as a full project, very unlikely - BUT is it a great opportunity for us to learn more about building modules, you betcha! And that is our goal - to learn stuff!!

I have to say, I get so much enjoyment from being part of this awesome group. We are a couple of months shy of our one year anniversary and we are still going strong! The people are great, the meetings are fun, totally non-judgemental, very supportive and I've learned tons!! We welcome new comers and visitors alike!
