Oliver Seldman (@otseld), a senior developer, architect and project manager and one of the organizers of Greater Los Angeles Drupal (@GLADrupal) and Drupal Fit (@DrupalFit), will feature a playlist of recommended videos to watch to get up to speed with the current state of the Drupal community and where it's going.
DevShop: Self-Hosted Development Environment, by Christefano Reyes
Christefano (@christefano) will present on DevShop, a new Drupal distribution that makes it easy to all of your Drupal projects (each with unlimited environments) on your own server.

About Greater Los Angeles Drupal ^
With several weekly and monthly events, the Greater Los Angeles Area is one the most active areas for Drupal in the world.
Formerly named Downtown Los Angeles Drupal, we've been meeting regularly in and around Downtown Los Angeles, California, since early 2010, and now organize a large number of events in the area. Our signature events include the Drupal Job Fairs and the Downtown Drupal, Frontend Drupal and High Performance Drupal meetups.
Our members and organizers have produced hundreds of Drupal events, including job fairs, meetups and workshops, conferences, paid trainings, coworking days, study group sessions, movie outings, FREE tutoring sessions from Drupal professionals, and website barnraisings to benefit non-profits and members of our community.
Attending Drupal events in the Greater Los Angeles Area is one of the best ways to meet and talk with other Drupaleros and we encourage you to attend as many meetings and special events as you'd like. Whether it's to find solutions to problems you've been having, sharing something you've learned or just meeting interesting like-minded people, the Greater Los Angeles Drupal events are an essential resource for Drupal professionals and hobbyists alike.
If you aren't already a member of Greater Los Angeles Drupal, it's easy to join our community. Our community calendar is on our "Events" tab on our home page at http://groups.drupal.org/node/219129

slideshow banner displaying multiple images
Hello everyone, I know how to get a slidshow with one image in it, but I would like to have a slideshow banner which has several images displayed side by side at the same time and the image banner rotates from left to right. Is it possible someone can point me to the right direction or do a quick demo? Thanks and your help is much appreciated.
Accordion Slideshow
Sounds like what you're looking for is an 'accordion slider':
a) I have got something like that working on one of my sites: i can show it to you sometime. In the meantime, look at:
Nivo-Slider - it will allow you to use various effects on the slides('Slide from Left/Right' will do something like you want with a rotating banner, but I haven't tried the other effects: they may come much closer to what you want)
Views Horizontal Slider - this is probably what you are looking for; I 've never tried it; also check their DEMO
Views Slideshow
Accordions
b) I found Nivo slider easy to set up and use; you can get a slider set up and try out different effects with little trouble, & settle on what you want
Tonight's Happy Hour

Help! Input needed in the DevShop issue queue
Hi everyone, there's been some movement on the #1 issue I mentioned having with DevShop:
https://drupal.org/node/1909214
If you recall, DevShop is the Aegir-based development and hosting platform that was the focus of a featured presentation at this meetup.
The issue in question is about supporting repositories that have Drupal's index.php somewhere other than in the root of the repo. The DevShop maintainers are asking for community input on the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.
edit: adding to the DevOps group in case anyone there is interested.
In LA and happy to give a talk if there is still time.
Howdy from Austin LA,
Webchef from Four Kitchens here in LA for the week and would be happy to grab a presenter slot if there is still one available.
I'll let you guys choose:
I can give a high level overview of Ansible, a configuration management tool like Chef or Puppet that we have kinda fallen in love with. No slides yet, but it's definately something I'm going to be talking about in the near future. http://www.ansibleworks.com/
I can do a fast version of my "Make Publishing Rock! Improving the Lives of Editors talk." http://2013.drupalcorn.org/session/make-publishing-rock-improving-lives-...
Absolutely, there's plenty of
Absolutely, there's plenty of room left on the schedule for our next meetup.
This meetup already came and went, though! Would you like to propose a presentation for the Downtown Drupal meetup on Tuesday, October 1st?
https://groups.drupal.org/node/326848
As far as which presentation to choose from… I'd love to see the "Make Publishing Rock!" presentation. I'd love to hear which one other folks are interested in, too.
