Our next Dundee meetup will be on Tuesday 20th August. Kicking off at 7pm - we're in a different venue due to the summer shutdown of parts of the university - T8 on the 2nd Floor of the Tower Building, School of Humanities, Nethergate, Dundee DD1 4HN. We'll aim to finish before 8.30pm and pop across the road to Braes Bar afterwards.
This month, we'll have a main presentation on using Git with Drupal - how to apply patches etc. John Hume will lead it, but if anyone has other useful experience with Git feel free to chip in. We'll also have the usual roundup of news, jobs etc. I'll put a Lightning Talk together on using Drupal in different environments (dev, staging etc): other volunteers welcome.
- Welcome
- Introductions
- Planet Drupal
- Jobs
- Intro to Git by John Hume (Life Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing at Dundee Uni)
- Lightning Talks
- Adjourn to Braes bar for beer, food and chat
We hope to have a code sprint at the September meeting (Tuesday 17th), and you'll need to be familiar with the basics of Git to participate. So come along... all are welcome - especially those who are new to Drupal or want to find out anything about getting started.
As with Drupal, the event is free... just please signup so we know who's coming.

Can't make it.
Sadly I can't do Tuesdays due to family commitments.
Introduction
Hello everyone,
New to Drupal and to the Drupal Scotland Group. Looking to meet and engage with the Drupal community here in Scotland, so I'll definitely come up to Dundee on Tuesday.
If any of you are on LinkedIn and would like to connect before then, please feel free to do so >> linkedin.com/in/phinmpofu.
A few interesting ventures I am building so looking forward to networking and feedback from the Drupal Scotland community.
Regards,
Phin
Notes from last night's meeting
Good turnout last night, and great to see new faces too.
If you want to find out more about using Git with Drupal, a great place to start is https://drupal.org/documentation/git
Other news:
Lightning Talks:
Next month's meetup (17th Sep) will be a core issue sprint - an attempt to help with the release of Drupal 8.x. We'll send out details of preparation that would be useful, although for any of you starting out with Drupal, http://drupalladder.org/ is great place to start building your skills - lots of well structured training and reference material.

Sorry I missed it.
Looks like a compromise has been reached and I'll be able to come next month for the sprint. Yay!
Is anyone putting up slides/notes for their talks?
Slides
Glad to hear you can make it next month, Adrian. I'll get my slides put up later on today. There were a few live demos, so the slides have a slightly limited value but still some useful info in there.
Slides are Up
I've uploaded the slides to Speaker Deck, here's the link: https://speakerdeck.com/littledynamo/git-init-initialise-your-git-skills...

Thanks.
Thanks for those John. Not much new to me but I wanted to make sure I was on the same page as everyone else next month.
