After the last couple months, some of you might be saying, "Enough with the super nerdy/geeky topics! Where's the pretty, designer-y stuff?" Well, I don't think we can avoid being geeky, but this month we will return to the aesthetics end of our front-end spectrum and talk a bit about typography and web fonts.
This will include:
- How to choose good typography, appropriate to your usecase
- Font resources
- Icon fonts + Sass
...and likely more. Speaking of, if you have any tips, experiences, or resources that you think others might find useful, get in touch with me (Mindewen).
The format is going to be several shorter presentations / walk-throughs, 5-15 minutes long. Bring your laptop so you can play along!
We meet in Squishymedia's office space (116 NE 6th Ave, 3rd floor). If you find yourself locked out, there should be a call box outside of the main building doors.
