Here's a list of the top .au websites ranked by access statistics as supplied by Alexa as accessed by people in Australia. It uses the detection logic from the Wappalizer project.

This site combines Alexa data, Wappalizer logic and PhantomJS (for the screencaps) to present the top lists. Analytics is first run through some custom PHP CLI which creates YAML files that simply go into a long text field for each date and country and is presented through a custom field formatter.
I wrote the site over a weekend a couple of weeks ago and have been adding a few new countries every week, so I'm sure it can be made a lot better but it's already pretty useful and interesting, I think. There's also an international top list and the full index:

A site from the last company I worked for and my current company and a previous colleague are on that list :)
None of my sites are though, despite me having a Drupal site making about 10x more traffic than the site on that list I'm privy to the analytics stats for. It's not Australian (I have a non-Drupal site making 100x that traffic).
Missing data?
Maybe install Wappalizer plugin for Firefox then visit your site's front page to see if it detects it as Drupal. Then check the Alexa rank for the site's Australian ranking at http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/burtronix.co.za Finally check that its domain name ends in .au.
Even if all that checks out though, I noticed the scripts I use are not 100% good, so I run them three times each - takes a very long time, but some may still be missed. I'm sure that if that was the case we'll catch your site in the next run.

I greatly appreciate the initiative and the hard work that went into this, but question the accuracy of these results.
Some of these make sense, like the Suncorp sites, AAMI, GIO etc...
But this site being number 45 in Australia: http://www.midc.com.au ? Really....?

Yes indeed, I develop several of the top sites on the South African list myself and have Google Analytics and log files that definitely show a discrepancy when compared to the Alexa statistics.
It's not to be taken too seriously then. But still may be useful to some degree for local groups.
More interesting will be when I run this for several months and can then perhaps track migrations to and from Drupal as a CMS.
My site gets about 10%
My site gets about 10% traffic from Australia, so it wouldn't pick up on an Australian list. And way too low to pick up anywhere other than Australia, it isn't that high as far as traffic goes, ~100k pageviews a month is low. Also not a .au, and hosted in the US.
Never ceases to amaze me how low traffic some sites are.

It parses the top 1 million websites (if all goes well, weekly) to find the top Drupal websites, ranks them and notes the people who built them (as well as their Drupal Association membership).
