Meeting recap

Good to see everyone at the meetup this evening. Quick recap:

  1. Heather ran us through the Apache Solr integration for her CAUIDIT project which makes use of file_entity and the media 2.x branch to make data rich files searchable via Solr. Custom permissions set document availability (private, board members only) and there's the standard facetapi goodness for drilling down, but this time based on fields attached to the file entity.
  2. Ger ran us through HbbTV and how the European's have standardised a format for harmonising broadcast and broadband tv/content. Interestingly the delivery format is html/css/js served up for display across multiple devices, think responsive design. For more info contact Ger as he's looking to get further involved with HbbTV in Aus.
  3. Jaymie ran us through the initial version of the Zen 5.x based theme for are charity project. He ran through the fantastic Zen Grids and how he's using it to power the layout for the front end of the project. It's coming together and should be ready in the next 2 weeks.
  4. Work is still progressing on the backend of the charity project as powered by Redhen, right now the main delay is concrete feedback from the client which we're hoping to sort out soon. More info on the project at http://drupalgoldcoast.com/dgc/node/108

Thanks for coming along and see you next month!
