1st Ann Arbor/Jackson meeting reflections

Our first Ann Arbor/Jackson, Michigan meeting is now behind us. I pause now to reflect.

We had ~11 People from Lansing, Jackson and Ann Arbor. Thanks to mikejoconnor of the Jackson, Michigan group for initiating. Less than 50% of the crowd was from Ann Arbor (sad). Although I see reason to maintain two seperate groups, it is clear to me that these groups will benifit from regular collaboration.

We had a mixed group. Newbies to seasoned Drupalers and even a .NET programmer. The greater portion of the group being newly converted.

The attendents were using Drupal for e-commerce, academic research, political agenda and intranets.

What I'm wondering now is, "what next?" Thats not a rhetorical question. Please add a comment with your two cents.

Here is what I think:

1. With so many new users in the group our next meeting should focus on the basics. Lets generate a list of top ten most commonly used contributed modules (not core) and maybe a couple that are not so common but promising. We will need some presentation space. I don't have access to this kind of space. Can anyone offer up space to present? I can help with presenting as I have loaded many modules but not them all. So maybe we could do this as a team once we've decided on the modules.
