I propose we have the May Drupal meeting at BarCampPortland. Below are details on BarCamp...

What is BarCamp? It is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.

Tech + Geek + Culture. The event for the Portland tech community, produced BY the Portland tech community.

BarCamp is a FREE event and the content is determined by the attendees. The event will be hosted at CubeSpace, which has a number of conference rooms for breakout sessions, a large main meeting area, wireless access, easy access to public transportation, bike storage, and ample parking.

We need your help to make BarCamp Portland a fantastic event for the tech community in Portland. Here's what you can do...

1) Forward this email on to people in the Portland area that may have an interest in attending. As we have done little marketing of the event (so far), assume that your local tech social network doesn't know about it yet.

2) If you have not already added yourself to the BarCamp Portland wiki page as an attendee, please do so. This will help us get a more accurate attendance count and plan accordingly (you want food, right?): http://barcamp.org/BarCampPortland

3) Add a session idea for the event. This could be a talk, a demo, a round table discussion - whatever! Please add it to the Proposed
Sessions section on the wiki page: http://barcamp.org/BarCampPortland

That's an awesome idea. I hadn't heard of barcamp yet but sounds cool. I think I could make either day. Do others have a preference on which day we should try to schedule something? Any ideas for topics?

I think Saturday would be better, we'd have a much easier time scheduling something. I think we should do an intro presentation for all those not familiar with Drupal.

make sure to double check

I'm into this too - I'm planning to spend the day there Saturday, so I'm open to any time. I think we should post something to the Wiki ASAP - maybe I'll do it myself. Any restrictions on what time of day...?

Not free all day, after all. I can't do it from about 10:30 am to 1pm. How about starting at 1:30pm?

Has anyone decided on a time to gather at BarCamp on Saturday? I'd be interested in sitting in and helping out with a Drupal session. It's been a while since I've made it to any Drupal meetups, but it would be good to get in touch with the community again.

I'm still hoping 1:30pm Saturday works for everybody...

I'm planning on making it. Noticed on the barcamp schedule that lunch is planned from 1-2, but 1:30 will be good to grab some free grub and then find folks.
