I normally don't post promotional crap that people tell me to, but given we talked about a) civiCRM and b) how wordpress is benefitted by having a paid ecosystem, I figured there might be some interest in this meetup. It's at cruzio this Tuesday (the 14th).

It's an open source CRM project, based out of SC. The guy in charge wants to have an ecosystem of local developers creating distributions to sell iirc. Snacks and booze!

X2CRM is something to keep in mind
The guy starting up X2 was the original guy behind SugarCRM. He left control to the corporate and has been working on X2 the last few years. His idea was to make it accessible with other CMS. I am not certain if he moved far into Drupal, but there is opportunities there to make a great tool match up.
It might be worth checking out if for no other reason than to see what he has going on. And John is a super nice guy to boot!
