Just a quick reminder to all South Africans that tomorrow, on Drupal's birthday, there's a huge global sprint to work on Drupal 8. Don't need to be a serious coder either... just read this page to help you prepare and set the day aside if you can:

It will also help a lot if you get on IRC. A lot, really guys, sit in those IRC channels and be known as a Drupaler!
I don't know that we have many Johannesburgers participating yet, but one Cape Townian at least, from 2Stroke (spelling correct?) asked about core sprints in SA recently. If you participate or are interested to participate, say once monthly, in getting together and working on Drupal core, perhaps it will be a good idea to mention that in this topic and we can start getting some local groups together so that next year we can participate more concretely in the birthday sprint too.
And with that: I sign up for Johannesburg/Fourways if we get three or more additional people to commit to once a month ;-)

Thanks to a couple of Drupal rockstars yesterday that helped on the channels and assisted me in getting my feet wet on contributing to Drupal 8. It's really as they say, not that difficult and there's something for everyone to do and people to help you do it.
Also thanks of course the Johannesburg meet-up guys from which I learned a lot that was useful that helped me too ;-)
