Hi Guys
I had a chat with some of the guys after the meetup and a few of us are keen to try and organise a sprint session covering the d.o issue queue.
We were thinking Saturday morning on the 22nd March.
I've checked out the Brisbane Square Library and there's a meeting room available from 10.00 - 1.00pm. Also, contrary to what I'd been told previously, you can take food and drink into the library as long as it's not hot food (pizza, etc.). So it's fine to grab a take-away coffee and muffin or sandwich from the cafe next door and bring it into the library with you.
The only meeting room available at that time is an 8 seater, so please let us know if you're interested so I can get an idea of numbers and make sure the room is adequate.
Btw, I'd considered The Edge at South Brisbane but it only opens at 12.00pm.
Cheers
Paul

Maybe we could also do a session at one of the meetups on the Drupal Ladder and leverage it to help get newer Drupalists involved. Maybe we could get Brenda to give an overview of her experience getting involved at DrupalSouth?
Gee thanks Robert!! :)

Thought you'd be excited!
Thought you'd be excited! :-) That'll teach you to be so enthusiastic after your first commit at the DrupalSouth sprint...
One of the issues we face is that lots of people, particularly those newer to Drupal or who aren't computer science graduates, often think that to contribute to the project you'll need to know fancy techo stuff like encapsulation and polymorphism - when in reality, nothing could be further from the truth.
If you can read English and have a little bit of spare time you can make a valuable contribution to the project, learn heaps and have fun. We need to get the word out!
Cheers
Robert
Encapsulation and Polymorphism

I'd be happy to help out wherever I can, if I can - I think! With my new project coming up am not sure how busy I am about to be!!

Global sprint efforts?
How are you guys going with sprint planning?
Is it too late to shift to the following weekend? March29-30 coincides with Drupal DevDays in Szeged, and there are other sprints being planned around the world...
Or perhaps you guys could kick off a week of sprints - DevDays starts on March24th...

Task Cards used at Drupal South 2014 for introducing code sprint
There was some discussion about the helpfulness of the "Task Cards" used for the Code Sprint on the Friday at Drupal South in Wellington.

Not sure if relevant for this week - but may be useful for other sprints.
